We Are Expanding
We have built a new clinic, and after twenty years since its establishment, the Dr. Böhm Eye Center has moved into this new facility. In an effort to reduce waiting times, we aim to be more accessible to a larger number of patients and to provide comprehensive ophthalmologic care for all age groups—from children to seniors. We offer the most advanced same-day eye surgeries and are among the few in Slovakia specializing in a wide range of procedures for both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.

We Are Growing
The Eye Center was established twenty years ago. However, the ever-increasing demand, the year-over-year growth in new patients, and the resulting extended waiting times for appointments and surgeries have led us to gradually expand our services and reach.
We therefore added satellite eye clinics in Pezinok (2008) and Senec (2019). With the opening of optical shops at each clinic, we offer patients comprehensive vision care services starting the moment they leave the doctor’s office. The idea to expand the main eye center into its own building has now become a reality, and we are launching the new clinic in its beautiful new surroundings.
Our previous location in Ružinov, on Astrová Street, remains unchanged and continues to host an eye clinic with an optical shop.

Top-Quality Services Available to Everyone
The opening of the new clinic has brought many changes. Our top priority is our patients. In the new eye center, which spans 1,800 m², they will find 6 clinics, 4 specialized examination rooms, and 3 operating theaters. They can rely on top-quality services from a team of ophthalmology experts they are already familiar with.
Under one roof, they will receive premium eye and vision care—from comprehensive and specialized examinations for all age groups, to diagnostics, pre-operative assessments, and complex surgeries of the retina and vitreous, as well as aesthetic eye surgery and oculoplastic procedures.
The building also houses a new optical shop providing high-quality optical services and products—from lenses and contact lenses to eyeglass frames.
Changes have also been felt by the medical and other staff members, who have swapped the limited space of the former Ružinov address for spacious clinics, operating rooms, large reception areas, and waiting rooms.
The clinic complex also includes a free parking lot with 23 spaces for patients and a surrounding garden that creates a pleasant, sanatorium-like atmosphere in the new premises.
Fair Pricing
The Eye Center has contracts and strong working relationships with all three health insurance companies on the market, allowing us to ethically set prices for above-standard services. We have set fair prices for advanced procedures, materials, and medical aids, ensuring they are affordable for the majority of our patients.
Family Tradition and Teamwork
The founders of the Dr. Böhm Eye Center are a physician couple—psychiatrist Dr. Zuzana Böhmová and eye surgeon Dr. Peter Böhm—along with surgical nurse Daniela Novotná. Twenty years ago, they started with just the three of them. Today, we employ nearly 50 people.
Nevertheless, it remains a family-run business with tradition, as all four children of the Böhm family now work in the Eye Center. Thanks to this family legacy and strong sense of unity, relationships in the workplace are friendly and collaborative.

A Leader in Cataract Surgery
Among both private and public ophthalmic facilities, we have consistently ranked among the top in Slovakia for the number of cataract surgeries performed. During the first 10 years of the center’s existence, this meant thousands of operations per year. In the second half of our journey, we have doubled the number of surgeries, and the annual numbers continue to grow.

In addition to cataract surgeries, we specialize in complex retinal and vitreous surgeries. Under the leadership of retinal microsurgeon Dr. Peter Böhm Jr., we perform intricate procedures thanks to the latest technologies and research—all within the framework of same-day surgery, with no need for patient hospitalization.
